COLDENHAM FIRE DISTRICT

The Coldenham Fire District consists of five publicly-elected officials, the Board of Fire Commissioners, each of whom serves a five year term. Much like the volunteer firefighters we work with, we are not paid to serve as Commissioners. It is our responsibility to provide the necessary apparatus, buildings and equipment needed to assist the Coldenham Fire Department in the fire and rescue activities that are essential for the protection of life and property within the Coldenham Fire District. It is also our responsibility to operate the Coldenham Fire District in accordance with the laws of the State of New York.

BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS

Chairman	Tim Besser	The board meets on a monthly basis, to oversee the operation of the Fire District and to make policies and procedures under which the Fire District and the Fire Company operate. We remain keenly aware of the fiduciary responsibility we hold in representing the taxpayers within our Fire District. As Commissioners, we are mandated to follow a strict formula in preparing the budget in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, including specified spending limits. Our process is a public one, and we welcome the input of the residents and taxpayers we represent in the Coldenham Fire District.

Notice is hereby given that the fiscal affairs of the Coldenham Fire District for the period beginning January 1, 2009 and ending on December 31, 2009, have been examined by Vanacore DeBenedictus DiGovanni & Weddell, and that the report of examination performed by Vanacore DeBenedictus DiGovanni & Weddell has been filed in my office where it is available as a public record for inspection by all interested persons. Pursuant to section thirty-five of the general municipal law, the governing board of the Coldenham Fire District may, in its discretion, prepare a written response to the report of examination performed by Vanacore DeBenedictus DiGovanni & Weddell and file any such response in my office as a public record for inspection by all interested persons not later then August 15, 2010.

Please take notice that a Special Meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Coldenham Fire District will be held at the Coldenham Fire House, 511 Coldenham Road, Walden, NY at 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 29, 2010 to review and update the Rules and Regulations of the Coldenham Fire District.

NOTICE OF WORKSHOP

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Workshop will be held by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Coldenham Fire District, Orange County, New York on Wednesday, August 18 beginning at 7:00p.m., at the Coldenham Fire House, 511 Coldenham Road, Montgomery, New York. The workshop will be for the purpose of the 2011 Budget.
